Design Meets
Functionality
We integrate hard structures with your garden. Dry creek beds manage drainage beautifully, while pergolas provide shade for the hot LA sun.
Dry Creek Beds
Decorative stone paths that double as drainage channels during rain.
Arbors & Lighting
Vertical structures for vines and low-voltage LEDs for evening ambiance.
A Beautiful Patio Starts
With What You Can't See.
In Los Angeles, cheap hardscaping cracks within a year due to shifting clay soil. We focus on the sub-base preparation and drainage so your investment lasts for decades.
Why Patios Fail
Cracked & Sinking Pavers
If the base layer isn't compacted correctly (3-4 inches minimum), your beautiful pavers will shift and sink after the first rainy season.
Water Pooling
Improper slope leads to standing water. This breeds mosquitoes, stains your stone, and can even flood your home's foundation.
Weed Growth
Without professional-grade polymeric sand and weed barriers, grass will grow through your paver joints within months.
Built to Last
Deep Compaction Base
We excavate deeper and use road-base aggregate compacted to 95% density. This creates a rock-solid foundation that won't settle.
Smart Drainage
We install hidden channel drains and grade every inch of your patio to ensure water flows to the street or garden, never your house.

Designed for the California Lifestyle
In Los Angeles, your backyard is an extension of your home. Whether you need to replace a thirsty lawn with drought-tolerant pavers or build a hillside deck for sunset views, we balance aesthetics with functionality. We design outdoor spaces that increase property value and reduce water usage.
Drought Smart
We replace high-maintenance grass with permeable pavers, DG (decomposed granite), and hardscapes that reduce your LADWP bill.
Hillside Utilization
Maximize your square footage. We engineer structural retaining walls and terraced patios to turn unusable slopes into entertainment zones.
Heat Management
We install "cool-touch" pavers and overhead pergolas designed to keep your patio comfortable during the peak of Los Angeles summers.
Custom Masonry
From modern poured concrete to rustic flagstone, our artisans specialize in custom cuts and patterns that elevate your home's curb appeal.
Hardscape Design Checklist
We ensure every element is planned for longevity and compliance.
We install permeable interlocking concrete pavers (PICP) that allow rainwater to return to the ground, reducing runoff and meeting city environmental codes.
Interlocking pavers are flexible. Unlike solid concrete, which cracks during earthquakes, pavers move with the earth and are easy to repair.
Upgraded hardscaping and curb appeal offer one of the highest returns on investment in the LA housing market.

Santa MonicaCommon Questions
Answers about permeable pavers, drought-tolerant designs, and outdoor living durability.
Are pavers better than stamped concrete?
In Los Angeles, Yes. Concrete inevitably cracks due to seismic activity (earthquakes) and soil shifting. Interlocking pavers are flexible; if the ground moves, they move with it. If a paver gets damaged, you can replace just one brick instead of re-pouring the entire patio. They also offer better drainage.
Will weeds grow between my pavers?
Not if installed correctly. We use a high-quality Polymeric Sand that hardens like grout between the joints, preventing weed growth and ant hills. We also install a commercial-grade geotextile fabric underneath the base layer to block weeds from below.
Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?
According to LADBS, any retaining wall over 3 feet tall (measured from the bottom of the footing) requires a permit and engineering. Garden walls under 3 feet typically do not. We handle all necessary engineering and permitting for hillside stabilization projects.
What is the most drought-friendly patio option?
Permeable Pavers are excellent because they allow rainwater to seep back into the ground, reducing runoff. We also recommend combining hardscapes with artificial turf or decomposed granite (DG) to create a zero-water, low-maintenance backyard.
